gig reviewing

Okay so - I’ve been asked to start reviewing gigs. Pretty cool right? Except, I’m a little scared, can only seem to write about things that spontaneously pop into my mind and absolutely, completely don’t feel like I have the right to judge a musicians performance when not being one myself.

However, I’m so excited. Free gig tickets, chance to explore bands and genres I’ve never even thought of, potential opportunities for interviews, maybe even a chance to review an album months in advance. But mostly importantly, exposure.  I’m off to University in September soon so the more reviews I’ve done - the more likely I can apply for the newspaper and continue doing this in a different city!
