Travelling

Travelling should be a rite of passage for our age group. I kind of think it's problematic for a few reasons that people are unable to explore the world:

1) Some people can't afford it but there's this pressure to do it at this point in our lives as if it's the be-all and end-all of living your 'youthful days' properly.

2) There's a false pretence that you'll “find yourself” - whereas most of life's answers tend to come from making mistakes and learning how to deal with life’s difficulties.

There is a lot of pressure to subscribe to travelling as this great catch-all escape from reality. As a matter of fact, travelling isn't for everyone, not everyone enjoys it and perhaps they'd be more fulfilled doing something else

There shouldn't be the impression that you've lived less if you haven't/aren't able to travel the world on'daddy's' trust fund.

I guess travelling can be on a micro level - just going to small cities in your home country, exploring new museums, parks, whatever you’re into is travelling in some way. You’re exploring the world, even if it isn’t on a macro level.
