Reading

I absolutely adore reading. Books, magazines, other blogs - you name it. I was and am still an avid book reader with a vivid imagination.

My head was always in books when I was younger - people at school called me Matilda. I would read and read until I achieved Level 15 at the age of 8 in my reading class. Why do books fill me with so much joy? Because, words. Words are so powerful - they have so many different meanings, and the simple change of one letter edits the entire word completely. How amazing.

I love how a book can transform you to a different world, how everyone has a different imagination of what characters should look like and talk like. How books are a comfort, how you can take them anywhere and how you can always return to them at any time. Books are life.

I previously read 'How To Stop Time' by Matt Haig and was thoroughly impressed. What a deep thinker and what a thought-provoking read. We are so merely caught up in the future that we forget to live for now. We are so filled with 'what if's'? and 'I should have done this' that we forget and often regret the things we could have done.

We only have a finite time here on this earth, we don't get a second chance. This is our only shot - make the most of it. Ask that girl out, eat that last slice of pizza, dance until your feet hurt, laugh until you cry, read that book that's too long - don't think about it. Do it now. Before it's too late.
